1969 Northwest Player of the Year

Rhome Nixon

Receiver

Portland Loggers

Rhome Nixon arrived in Portland after 2 seasons with the Orange County Ramblers and had the best year of his Continental Football League career amassing 58 receptions, 940 yards and 9 TD's.

The Texas native spent only one season in the Northwest but quickly became the most talked about receiver next to the Rangers Joe Peyton.

Nixon was tabbed as a ContFL All-Pro and Pacific Division All-Star following the season and caught the eye of the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League.
