1968 Northwest Player of the Year

Tom Roach

Place Kicker

Spokane Shockers

Roach set a Northwest region standard with 14 field goals in 1968 including his career long of 43.  He was selected to the Western Conference All-Star team and Pacific Division All-Star team for the ContFL.

The former Portland State star was 14 of 19 on the season and added 17 extra points for the cellar dwelling Shockers who acquired Roach from the Eugene Bombers franchise when it folded after the 1967 season where he  scored 55 points for Eugene.  The Bombers signed Tom from the semi-pro Portland Thunderbirds in 1966 and he turned in an All-Star performance in 1966 for the Bombers.
