2007 Northwest Player of the Year

Bobby Poeltl

Wide Receiver/Punt & Kick Return Specialist

South Sound Shockers

"The Most Dangerous Athlete on Turf", Poeltl was a threat to score every time he touched the pigskin in 2007.  Hauling in 66 passes for 1,124 yards and 15 touchdowns, Bobby didn't stop there.  He served as the Shockers special teams threat going the distance 7 times on the season amassing 1,065 yards in the punt and kick return games.  The GNFA Special Teams Player of the Year, Poeltl was a unanimous All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American selection with the Minor League Football News naming him the Player of the Year.  Poeltl is the current record holder of two 200-yard receiving games in a single season.

Bobby was also called upon to play corner after the Shockers starter went down with a broken thumb in week 2.  Playing both ways in many games, Poeltl picked off 3 passes and batted down 3 more on a defense that forced 76 turnovers on the season.
