2010 Border War!

March 13, 2010

Milwaukie High School, Portland, Oregon

12:00 PM: In Game 1 The North Sound Sting will take on the Springfield Buzzards. The Buzzards are expected to be on the upswing in 2010 and battle for dominance of the Eugene region, while the Sting look to improve on a 0-7 campaign in 2009. These teams have never played each other.

3:30 PM: Game 2 pits the Umpqua Valley Knights and former Baltimore Raven Robin Kneble against the Kitsap County Bears and longtime minor leaguer Don Purser. Umpqua was 2-6 in 2009 but should better that mark in 2010. The Bears will be playing their 3rd season after a Vegas Bowl game win in 2009. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

7:00 PM: In the nightcap, The defending GNFA champion Portland Monarchs, undefeated in Northwest competition since April 19, 2008 will take on the South Sound Shockers, 6-3 last season. The Monarchs look to finally avenge one of two losses from 2008, having already beaten the Outlaws, the last Oregon team to win against the Monarchs. The Shockers have won the last two matchups in 2007 and 2008.
