The Medics dominated the Port Angeles Commandos to win the Northwest Service League Championship of 1944.  Seymour Hecht scored from 5-yards out, Ken Lundberg took a 5-yard end around, and Ed Stoddard passed to Bud Robinson for 50 yards to lead at half.  To start the second half, Hal Littleford raced downfield and pounced on the live-ball in the endzone after no Commando downed the kickoff, and Lundberg scooped up a blocked punt at the Angeles 10-yard line to score the final points for the Medics.

The Championship game against the Coast Guard Commandos saw 5,000 spectators pay $2,230,000 in war bond purchases to gain admission (The Capital Journal).
