Keys

Buck Pao Pao, the dominant Samoan QB, finished the regular season 103/194 for 1657 yards and 15 TDs in 10 games.  Fort Lewis did not keep track of his rushing yards, however he was the first true "dual threat" QB the NIFL saw and had a difficult time containing.  Against the Titans he was 7/13/98 yds and 3 TDs through the air.

The first game against Pierce County came off as a "grudge match" between the neighboring teams as a total of 317 yards in penalties were marched off, including 11 against the Warriors.  Pierce County was flagged 15 times in the 28-13 loss.  The teams would meet again in the playoffs with the Bengals running away 42-7 after star QB Buck Pao Pao was injured.  Another factor was the substantial number of players missing from the game due to field exercises scheduled the week of the playoffs.  This fact, led to the decision not to enter into a league schedule again as the military team was subject to player shortages on any given week.

Dan Chattman recorded a 90-yard kickoff return on 10/29/1977 (exhibition game?)

Fred Alcorn following his discharge from the Army, landed at University of Puget Sound.
