Representing Queen Anne in the 1933 season, Uptown became one of the powerful and controversial teams of the Seattle Community League.  Sig Bergerson chalked up the first TD of the '33 season on a 10-yard sweep.

After winning the league MVP crown, Brennan King would coach the Ubangi Blackhawks as well as assist with a Japanese team.  A battle would brew between Ranch and the Doghouse over signing of players to the point where both coaches would suit up and settle their differences in a game.  In the September opener with the Renton Rams, future Hall of Famers Don Sprinkle (fullback) and Elmo Hudgens (tackle) were teammates on the Ranch along with former New York Bakery teammates Babe Vallier and Gordon McInstry.  Babe Vallier was a controversy during the season as both Doghouse and Ranch claimed he was on their team, and he did in fact play games for both during the 1937 season.  When the Nov 7 game kicked off between Ranch and Doghouse, Vallier and Hudgens were "in the doghouse" as Sprinkle remained with the Mustangs.  Sprinkle ran down league MVP Quentin Biddle of the Guardsmen after an 81-yard interception return that looked to be a sure touchdown.  Sprinkle tackled Biddle at the 6-yard line and the defense held on four consecutive downs.  The game was decided on an intercepted lateral that went the other way for a 20-yard Guardsmen touchdown in the season finale loss.

The Uptown Athletic Club found itself barred from the Community League going into the 1938 season.  Dubbed the "bad boys" by Willard Coghlan and Jimmy Rispoli, bosses of the Community Football League, even garnering the backing of the Queen Anne Men's Club and coach Don Sprinkle did not sway the vote.  The team would play as an independent taking on the defending Northwest League Champion Renton Rams.
