Organized late in 1949, the Cubs from Billings played their games at Daylis Stadium with a 3-game inaugural season.  Opening with a win over the Butte Buzzies, the Cubs fell in the rematch then tied Denver's Lowry Air Force squad at home to close the season on Thanksgiving Day.

1950 opened with promise, as the Cubs battled the Buzzies hard in the opener, however military draft and call ups took it's toll as the Korean Conflict escalated overseas.  Following the second defeat to the Buzzies, and the loss of more players from the roster, management shut the team down with hopes of re-organizing after the "emergency" ended.  That emergency evolved into the Korean War lasting until July of 1953.  The Cubs franchise never returned.
