Created in 2019 with much of the staff coming from the Magic Valley
Bulldawgs franchise, the Diamondbacks were scheduled to take on some
independent games in the late summer and fall, however those plans never
came to fruition. Instead, the team had to await its ICFL debut
which was delayed by the Covid-19 shut downs of 2020.
The team opened up with a 28-0 home win after the Magic Valley Bulldawgs
called it quits at halftime. Fellow newcomer East Idaho came to
town issuing out a 28-6 setback evening the Dbacks record at 1-1 and
starting a 4-game skid to end the 2020 season.
2021 never really took shape, with the Diamondbacks going independent in
order to regroup. A game with fellow Independent Invaders put a
victory in the win column, however a scheduled November rematch was
canceled leaving the Diamondbacks having only one game played for the
year.
The Diamondbacks joined the Leaders Division of the Mountain West League
for 2022 and found little success struggling to put points on the board
in an 0-7 season where Sawtooth was shut out on 5 occassions. The
team would rebrand to the Idaho Diamondbacks and join the Idaho Contact
League for 2023.
