An All-Star team of players formed around the Corbett brothers in 1920 were known as the "Walla Walla Eagles" in reference to their initial practicing grounds at Walla Walla Park in Seattle. The group expanded to play the powerful Tacoma Athletic Club under the moniker "Seattle Athletic Club" at the end of the 1920 season.  The Corbett brothers were noted high school stars in Seattle and later as members of the Mare Island Marines during World War I. Wise, Engles, and Taylor were All-City high school players in 1920 and fullback James was All-State in 1913.  The team averaged 165lbs per man and is responsible for resurrecting Seattle football as the Corbett's would be found on West Seattle Yellowjacket rosters into the 1927 season. Even though they suffered a 27-0 defeat at the hands of Tacoma on barely a weeks' worth of practice, the team would be picked up by baseball monarch and new sponsor James Boldt for 1921.  Post-World War football was about to make a comeback.

Jim Boldt, a well-known restaurant and bakery owner in the Queen Anne area, promised financial support for the team in 1921.  Initially known as the Boldts Cafe Eleven, the team earned the nickname "Specials" in homage to the restaurant "special of the day".  Later in 1921, Boldt would take the reigns of the minor league baseball Seattle Indians and take them to the 1924 PCL pennant.  Len Oliver would be playing baseball for Snoqualmie Athletic Club as starting catcher the week prior to playing football with Boldt's.

Cot Rice passed to Len Oliver for a TD in a 7-14 loss to Bremerton for the franchise-first points.

1922 featured Len Oliver, Bob Morris, John Cole, Cook and Scanlon at ends, Dave Cole, Fat Harrison, Ted Ahner at tackles, Bill Tuynell, Bill Parr and King at guards, Rolly Corbett at center, Ivan Jones and Thompson quarterbacks, Rinaldo Caccia, Bob Corbett, Brick Holmes (all-Pacific fleet halfback) and Ham Green as half backs, and big Bill Morgan at fullback.  The Corbett brothers and Ted Ahner starred in the 13-0 win over South Park.  When this group played the Seattle Asahi a Japanese team, the Boldt's outweighed their opponents by 35 pounds per man leading to the 42-0 thumping.

Bob Corbett scored twice, Rinaldo Caccia, "Ham" Greene, and Len Oliver scored as well in the 31-0 win over Roslyn on Armistice Day.  The season would wrap up with a 6-0 loss to West Seattle evening up the two-game series for 1922. With Jim Boldt focusing more on baseball, the Yellowjackets combined the "Specials" under the Athletic Club banner in 1923, never looking back.  The upstart Boldt's Cafe team became a footnote while the players who started it all went on a multi-championship run through the 1930's and 1940's.

Len Oliver would become captain of the 1923 West Seattle Athletic Club team and a Hall of Famer.
