After making it to 3-1, the lone loss to the collegians at Cheney and setting up a showdown with Murphy's in 1932, Al Morgan intercepted and returned a 60-yard TD, Riley scoring the extra point to give the Hotelmen a 7-6 lead. But a blocked punt and interception return for a score in the fourth quarter gave the Spokane Community League title to Murphy's with a crosstown battle with the Independents yet to come. Thanksgiving Day featured a battle for Coeur d'Alene between the Hotel squad and the Independents. Hotel came away with the 13-0 win and claim as top team in the city. A scheduled rematch with Murphy's the following week could not be verified as having taken place. DO YOU HAVE INFORMATION TO CONTRIBUTE? CONTACT US! (email)
