The "Engineers" team was picked out of a contingent of soldiers
based near Ellensburg, Washington and assigned to the 187th Army Air
Corps during World War II. The team sported a couple of well
versed players in former University of Alabama end Carl Reaves and
University of Pennsylvania tackle Ralph Beerbower. Following a win over another Ellensburg Airbase team on Oct 31st, the following week, the Engineers took on the dominant Seattle Ironworks, formerly the West Seattle Yellowjackets, 14-time Champions of the Seattle and Northwest semi-pro scene. The game was arranged by the Ellensburg Elks Lodge and would collect the proceeds of the charity game for the Ellensburg USO swimming pool fund. DO YOU HAVE INFORMATION TO CONTRIBUTE? CONTACT US!
