Quarterback
Tacoma Tyees
An original "dual-threat" quarterback, Thacker came over
from the Seattle Ramblers after seeing limited playing
time in 1961. He took his fresh start with his new
team, and promptly led the Tyees to a 6-1 season
including two victories over his previous team enroute
to a North Pacific League Championship.
For the
seven game season, Thacker accounted for 1,469 yards of
total offense and 9 touchdowns. He had his best
day against the Olympic College Rangers when he ran for
119 yards and 3 TDs, passed for 204 yards and picked off
a pass while playing defense back.
