John Samuel Tsoutsouvas

Center - Linebacker

A former Oregon State standout, Tsoutsouvas, known as "The Greek" played three games with the Detroit Lions in 1940. The anchor of the legendary West Seattle Yellowjackets in the late 1930's, he finished up his career with the Tacoma Indians in 1947 in the Pacific Coast Professional Football League.

During his career, John played both ways bulldozing defenders as the 'Jackets center, and leveling runners as a linebacker.

In 1941 John was also selected to a Corvallis-area Softball All-Star team while assisting with coaching the Oregon State Frosh football team.

Facing the Bremerton Mountaineers in the '43 opener, Tsoutsouvas blocked a punt that was scooped up for the first score of the game.
