Glen Ramsden had been coaching in Surrey, but jumped on the chance to
purchase the Vancouver Grizzlies
gear when they folded, but also had to absorb an outstanding $1,200 debt
still owed as well. The make up of the team being 1/3 ex-Surrey
Rams, 1/3 ex-Grizzlies and 1/3 junior players moving up.

Quarterback Mike Davies, former B.C. Lion and Winnipeg Blue Bomber led
the Royals. He ran for two scores and passed to ends Earl
Henderson and Dennis Thune for two more in a 28-0 pounding of the Drakes
in the championship 2-game playoff.
Davies scored three TD's in the Alberta-BC Championship game.
Mike Davies pro career spanned the 1958/59 seasons with the BC Lions and
the 1960 season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. As a two-way
player in 1958 he secured 4 INTs and 2 fumble recoveries. As a
reserve QB in 1960 he threw for 2 touchdowns and 130 yards appearing in
26 CFL games. He was a 1959 All-Star with the Vancouver Columbians
after his release from the Lions.
James Pearce was signed by the Calgary Stampeders for 1962.
