Formed in 1908, the Athletic Club
1909: Earl Hanna announced in October the team was seeking games in and
out of Portland.
Played in the 155lb average division as a "lightweight" or "senior"
team.
In blowing out the Union Drug company team, the Stars used the forward
pass to score chunk plays to great effect.
On Oct 23, the Stars handed St. James College their first loss in four
years in an 11-10 victory. The lightweight Piedmont then went on
to challenge any Portland teams with the exception of the heavy
Multnomah Athletic Club and Catholic Young Mens Club, however after
there were no takers, the Stars did play the heavier Catholics and
showed well in two games.
