Mark Meadows $5/Annually

Sponsored by the Seattle Times newspaper, the "Newsboys" first appear in 1904 in the under-140lb division of the Seattle League.

Later, in 1912, the team shows up again playing as an independent.  Star fullback Hunter, having joined from the Washington Park team, left and later returned to face his former teammates as part of the Ballard Athletic Club.  Following two games with the Washington Athletic Club, Barclay and Burke defected to bolster the Newsboy lineup.
