Continued research is ongoing.

The Raiders franchise was started by Bob Kutzer and was one of the longer-operating organizations through the 1970's and 80's.

A 1975 date to play Western Washington University was canceled in favor of the WWU varsity playing an alumni team which included many Raider players and other NIFL teams.  After leading the Raiders to a league runner-up, Bob Kutzer was named 1975 NIFL Coach of the Year.

Running back Paul Huizinga was one of the top NFA backs in 1985 leading the Raiders with 140-yards on 31 carries while Tim Lane booted a 40-yard field goal to edge the Eastside Express 21-20 on September 8th.

The Raider defense placed themselves in the NFA record books in 1986 when they got to Salem Star quarterbacks 14 times for 104-yards in losses on October 18th securing a spot in the NFA playoffs.

The Raiders reached the 1986 league championship with quarterback Dave Peterson leading the way as NFA Offensive Player of the Year and six 1st Team all-league selections.

During the NFL strike of 1987, the final year of the Raiders, tight end Ken Sager would be signed by the Seattle Seahawks in October.  The Northwest Football Association and the Raiders closed down when NFA owners voted to shut down on October 22, 1987.

Skagit Valley struggled during the 1970's but continued to build and the payoff came in the 1980's with four championship game appearances.  The Raiders just couldn't get over the hump, losing the 1980 title game in overtime 7-6 and the 1987 championship game to 4-time NFA champion Auburn by the same 7-6 score.  The Raiders and Panthers played for the title in the final two NFA championships of 1986 and 1987.
