"The
closest thing to Deion Sanders in the NWFL". That
was the descriptor of Antonio Chandler's 1997 season
with the Vancouver Posse although the league was
actually known as the Pacific Football League at the
time.
Winning
the League MVP Award in '97, Chandler was a first team
all-league selection at corner and return man as well as
a second team choice at wide receiver. His efforts
helped lead the Posse to a 13-2 record and regular
season #1 finish.
The former
Portland Forest Dragon led the league with 16 TD
receptions following a 3 TD performance against the
Seattle Blue Devils on 7/12/97. He added another
to climb to 2nd in the Northwest record book behind
Harry Washington's 19 scoring receptions in 1986 by year
end.
