1967 Northwest Player of the Year

Joe Peyton II

Receiver

Seattle Rangers

Joe Peyton was no secret when he came out of the University of Puget Sound as a 6'2" 200 lb receiver and the Seattle Rangers wasted no time signing him to the team in July of 1967.

Joe Jr. didn't disappoint setting team highs in catches (56) and yards (664) as a 31-year old rookie with 5 touchdown receptions.  Peyton was a late college enroll after spending time in the military.  Set a record with 14 receptions in one game.

The Continental Football League named him to the Western Conference All-Star Team as well as a ContFL All-Pro.
