Boise was brought into the PDFL by commission Theo Hall shortly after the Buccaneers, a start-up franchise in 2010, folded following the 2011 season but before the May kickoff news station ABC 6 was airing stories of fraud concerning contracts promising to pay players from out of state and then reneging on the promises.  Head Coach McGahey left amid the allegations about the owner along with concerns regarding teenage and near 50-year olds being brought in to fill the roster and players also began leaving. 

A report stated the team could not afford the first trip to take on Portland and instead played a practice game with a thrown together band of Idaho Contact League players. Prospective Bandit players scattered shortly thereafter ending the franchise before getting off the ground.

"A story of deception and potential fraud in the PDFL, a Northwest semi-pro football league.  Broken promises, fishy contracts and miscommunication from management have caused the expansion franchise to have a tumultous start in the struggling league.  The important question is - who are the Bandits? The players? Or the owner?"
