LAKEWOOD WOLVES

The Lakewood Wolves formed in 2007 as a split from the Pierce County Knights after the 2006 season.  The split would create the Wolves and the Valley Mustangs as members of the Pacific Northwest Conference.

2007 started off ironically, the same way it would finish, with the Wolves forfeiting games.  A scheduled early season match up with the Mustangs foreshadowed what was to come as the Wolves played five games before running into financial problems and a reported mutiny of players and coaches against Rich Winkle.

The final four games were forfeited and the Wolves run as a viable team was finished.  Many of the players would find their way to the Tacoma Invaders for 2008 as the Wolves ceased operations.
