Lance
Westendorf didn't have the big numbers of his previous
two years
with the Jets (2001 - 2,500 yards & 2000 - 2,200 yards
passing), but it was his leadership in the big
games that mattered most. Leading the Jets to
their second undefeated season in three years, the 11-0
season was capped by a 29-15 victory over the St.
Petersburg Sharks in Sarasota, Florida and being crowned
the American Football Association National Champions.
In the AFA
Championship game, Lance came up big passing for 212
yards and 2 TD's to offensive MVP Jakoba Square.
Westendorf
passed for 1,739 yards and 20 touchdowns in 11 games on
the season winning NWFL 1st Team honors and being named
the AFA's Player of the Year.
This is
Westendorfs' second Northwest Player of the
Year honor in three years.
