The first expansion team of the Rocky Mountain Football League in 1998, the Bulldawgs were actually going to be two teams, one located in the southern Idaho corridor between Burley and Twin Falls.  Ultimately one team fell through, and the players and coaches signed up, merged into what became Mini-Cassia.  Created by Hall of Famer Matt Culbertson, a Minnesota transplant who moved to Pocatello and became the first commissioner of the RMFL after holding the title of "Director of Operations" in 1997, the team saw immediate support from the local community.  Unseen before attendance at RMFL games, fans surrounded the field decked out in Bulldawg hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts helping support the team.  Mini Cassia was the first team to begin taking the RMFL to the next step as a shining example of how to operate a franchise.

The 'Dawgs experienced some bumps and bruises through those early seasons, however, by 2003, had fought their way to a winning season in 2003, it's first since year one, and was one score away from a championship game appearance in a 28-21 loss to that years' juggernaut, the Snake River Rebels.  Following the 2001 season, running back Lonnie Edwards earned RMFL MVP status, the first major award since 1998 when defensive lineman Chuck Jones was named RMFL Defensive MVP.

The team would rebrand itself to the Magic Valley Bulldawgs prior to the '04 season.  After again qualifying for the RMFL playoffs in 2004, the then-management of the Bulldawgs did the unthinkable, they forfeited their option to play in the post-season.  Management fell apart and many of the long time players, there from the beginning retired.  The team nearly folded entirely if not for a group of younger players who stepped up and restored the team back into the RMFL for the 2005 season as technically a "new" franchise, but a weakened one.  Struggling for the next couple of years but seeing improvement each season on the field both in talent and organizational structure, a solid 2009 peformance brought Magic Valley a 7-1 regular season and high playoff seed in the RMFL AA division.  After dumping the Davis Vipers 40-20 at home in the playoffs, the 'Dawgs were defeated by eventual AA champion Logan 17-14 to end the season.

With AA champion Logan opting to remain, and AAA playoff qualifier Idaho Falls dropping down to AA, Magic Valley took the bold step to join the AAA division in an attempt to claim a spot back with the RMFL elites.  As in 1998, they were recognized as one of the classiest and best run organizations in the league.  Unfortunately, the competition on the field wasn't as kind.  The Bulldawgs suffered a 1-7 run in 2010 with the only victory coming against the Upper Valley Vikings.  That would be the theme through 2011 and 2012 as Magic Valley managed only one victory per season for three straight before the RMFL moved the Bulldawgs back into the AA division where they found their bite again against more similar competition in a 7-3 finish to the 2013 season which included a one-point shootout with the Brigham Sting before being knocked out by the Great Falls Gladiators.

RMFL realignment brought Magic Valley back into the AAA ranks of the Idaho Division, and Magic Valley crashed back into the division cellar with a 2-8 record to finish 2014 but improved to 4-6 in 2015.  That would be then end of the Bulldawgs run in the Rocky Mountain League as significant changes were to come for 2016.

The Idaho Contact League, formerly an 8-man league had moved up to 11-man competition and the Bulldawgs joined the ICFL.  Another 4-6 finish in the new league, showed just how difficult the competition would be against the primarily Boise-based teams, and during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Magic Valley managed just 2 victories.

A small group of ICFL teams defected to form the Idaho Football Alliance in 2019, and the Bulldawgs and other area rival Mini Cassia Diggers headlined the departures.  Cracks in the team foundation turned into giant holes as the Diggers and Bulldawgs would battle for the IFA title.  Magic Valley fell 56-0 in consecutive weeks starting a string of scoreless outings stretching into the 2020 season.

Rebranded the Jerome Bulldawgs for the 2020 season, the final outing was a disaster, far from the 1998 franchise, as the Bulldawgs set a then record for giving up the most points per game at 65.2 during an 0-5 campaign.  That record would eventually be broken in 2024, but it marked the end for one of the longest running franchises in Idaho history after 23 seasons and 202 games.  Delayed starting the season due to Covid Lockdowns, the first game against Sawtooth was called at halftime with Jerome down 28-0.  The games got progressively worse ending with a 92-0 shellacking by the Idaho Falls Mustangs. 

As a franchise, the Bulldawgs posted a 76-126 overall record with 10 playoff appearances and one title game appearance in the IFA during 2019.
