Kenon Coats began putting the Marauders together in May of 2003 after leaving the Treasure Valley Panthers. Originally slated to play the Salt Lake City Stallions in September, that game was postponed a week. The Marauders defeated the Stallions 33-21. The 30-member maroon-clad team was made up primarily of Air Force Base and local Mountain Home players. Citing some stability concerns, the Rocky Mountain Football League opted not to bring the Marauders into the league, instead accepting a bid by a 38-member group also from Mountain Home in the Bengals. Coats was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and could be relocated at any time and without a solid staff in place to take his place should that happen, the Marauders dissolved.
