Considered by many to challenge for the 1912 Arthur-Wiggins championship
after defeating and tying F.E. Watkins White Caps in two practice games,
the Portland Mohawks promptly stepped on those ideas with a 13-0 win in
week 1.
Players: H. Wank (B), Lynch (B), Mascot (B), Kurtz (L), Nissen (L),
McDonald (L), Bue (L), Nesvold (L), T. Mascot (L), Morgan (L)
The South Portland team was a late addition to the Portland League when
East St. Johns was too light to be competitive in the 160lb division.
They courted Fredrick "Red" McKeown as their coach, however he ended up
coaching Arleta instead. South Portland never made it to the field
with the 160lb league.
