The Spartans emerged in 2009 following the 2008 season as the Boise Speed reportedly merged with the Idaho Matadors.  The Spartans created a bit of confusion as they were technically playing as the Treasure Valley Spartans who had both AA and AAA Rocky Mountain League teams in 2009 with some players being interchanged during the season.  Some teams on the season still called the AA Spartans the "Boise Bombers" in game advertisements and news reports.  The 2009-2010 AA Treasure Valley Spartans and the schedule listed is a mirror of the Boise Bomber page.

The Idaho Matadors would return as a franchise in 2010 and the Spartans AA team would no longer carry any 'Bomber' references playing in the RMFL Central division.
