John Manlowe spent about $2400 outfitting his team for the 1942 season.  A year later in his warehouse, packed neatly in big boxes:  24 football suits, 27 pairs of football shoes, sweat shirts, helmets, shoulder pads, socks - everything it takes to tog up a grid team.  But no team.  The league collapsed and he was left with gear he couldn't peddle to high schools which didn't have enough players to fill their own gear.
