The Cowboys were Chuck Love's key to
starting the INWFL out of Spokane in 2003. The
team played 2 games that year against the Apple Valley
Bucks of Wenatchee and won both games prompting some to
call the Cowboys the "Defending INWFL Champs" as part of
a recruiting tactic and attempt to build the league
going into 2004.
The INWFL did grow for 2004 but the Cowboys
fell to the bottom of the heap going 2-7. West
Plains folded along with the rest of the INWFL during
the revolt against Chuck Love.
