Blackfoot, to Portneuf Valley and back to Blackfoot in three seasons, the Dragons struggled through the beginning stages of a new league. The original Rocky Mountain Football League member placed 3rd in 1997 and lost in the championship of 1998 without a winning season. Both losses in the playoffs were shut outs at the hands of the Idaho Falls Mustangs. The 1999 season was a futile season until the Dragons finally cracked the win column in the final week against the sliding Bulls. That elation was quickly tempered when the Snake River Rebels ended the season and the franchise with a devastating 82-6 beat down in the 1999 playoffs, the most lopsided playoff game in Northwest history. The team would merge with the Rocky Mountain Bulls as both teams dwelling in the cellar, hoped the alliance would bring a winning franchise back to Pocatello. The new team would be the Rocky Mountain Cobras out of Fort Hall. DO YOU HAVE INFORMATION TO CONTRIBUTE? CONTACT US! (email)
