The Rocky Mountain Cobras were created in the winter of 1999 after the Blackfoot Dragons and Rocky Mountain Bulls.  The teams had won three and four games respectively in 1999 Rocky Mountain Leauge play and what was hoped to be an improvement turned out to be more of the same.  Rocky Mountain would go 3-7 losing two games by one score which could have evened the record.

Changing to the Fort Hall Cobras and losing what key firepower they had in year one, the franchise slid further to 1-6 with only a week two win over the Utah Sharks to go with four shut out losses, and being blown out in five by over 38 points.

2002 would be the final season as the Cobras completely imploded to 0-8, becoming the first franchise in Northwest history to give up over 500 points in a season while only scoring 2.  The Madison Lionz made the record books with a week six 98-0 decimation.  A season finale 40-point loss closed the books on the Cobras franchise.
