The Roughrider name was "resurrected" after nearly a decade away in late 2014.  The former Rocky Mountain League team found a new home in the Idaho Contact League for the 2015 season anchored by a number of former Boise General players following the shut down of that franchise after the 2013 season.

The 2015 started out with a struggle losing in overtime to the Mountain Home Warriors.  Losses to the Wildcats and eventual champion Tribe.  Finishing off with three regular season wins, including a dominant rematch over the Wildcats, the Roughriders knocked out the Black Tide in the opening playoff round before falling once again to the Wildcats in the third meeting of the season to finish 6-4.

The 'Riders elevated in 2016 with a 3-0 start leading to a showdown with the defending champion Tribe.  The Tribe were too much taking a 46-24 victory.  Unphased, the Roughriders rolled through the next five games setting up an ICFL Championship rematch with the Tribe.  The Tribe once again dominated in a 38-7 win to solidify their ownership of the ICFL riding a 21-game winning streak and back-to-back titles.  The 'Riders finished with a 9-2 record, but ultimately could not keep the team operational and ended with a 15-6.

Original 'Riders linebacker Zac Jockumsen returned to close out his career as a Roughrider.  Jockumsen was elected to the GNFA Hall of Fame in 2023.
