Frank Olotoa (DE) 1978 NIFL 1st Team
Jim Easley (QB) 1978 NIFL 2nd Team
John Ross (RB) 1978 NIFL 2nd Team
Former Pierce County Bengal, Grover Johnson founded the Chiefs in 1977,
John Ross, Central Washington standout led the team in rushing, and
Bernard North, a West Virginian led the team in scoring and was voted
Most Inspirational Player by his teammates.
Ross led the team in 1978 as well reeling off 4-consecutive 100-yard
outings during September finishing with 715 yards on the ground.
Wayne Foster and Bob Trygstad were teammates at Washington State, Foster
a 1965 All-American and Hula Bowl participant was drafted by the Oakland
Raiders and played in Canada for two seasons. Trygstad was
All-Coast defensive line in 1966 and had brief outings with the
Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants before a 2 year CFL career.
Robert Mulligan played for the Chiefs and following
the break up of the team, founded and coached the King County Vikings.
Former lineman Joe Yeager played the 1979 season after graduating from
University of Puget Sound in 1978, prior to that was voted Outstanding
Lineman at Olympic Junior College. In 1982 he was elevated to
offensive line coach at the University of Montana after two seasons as
an assistant. Yeager remained as the offensive line coach until
1985 then became a Montana Football Network color commentator from
1988-1994.
