Debuting in 2017 as
a member of the WWFA under Jayce Joseph, the
Hurricanes started the season 0-5 before
posting back-to-back victories prior to the
finale against the powerhouse Kings.
2018 was an identical 2-6 finish as the
previous season in a stacked league with the
Nighthawks, Portland Raiders and Wenatchee
Rams dominating the league.
A switch to the re-formed Northwest Football
League in 2019 brought the franchise is most
success avenging the only loss on the season
with a 23-18 victory in the NWFL
championship over the Snohomish County
Grizzlies. Realignment came once
again, as the NWFL dwindled to 4 remaining
teams. The season was scrapped by
Covid-19, however the Hurricanes were one of
three teams willing to resume play in August
as members of the Washington State League.
The season was full of hiccups, starts and
stops as field were available with covid
restrictions following the season opening
loss. Once games resumed, the
Seminoles and Hurricanes got into heat
during the 3rd quarter with the game being
stopped and the Hurricanes awarded a forfeit
with the Seminoles ahead. A win over
the Bombers set up a rematch with the
Seminoles for the WSFL title. South
Sound pulled out the victory as league
champions and the Hurricanes regrouped for
2021.
The WSFL expanded seven teams with an eight
unable to take the field (Sequim) in 2021.
In a rematch with the Seminoles to kick off
the season, Northwest fell to an almost
identical score as last seasons'
championship. Starting out 0-3, the
Hurricanes finished 3-3 with a playoff exit
to the Tacoma Sabers.
The WSFL did not return for 2022 and the
Hurricanes followed suit shutting down as
well.
After a two-year hiatus, the Hurricanes were
announced to be joining the newly formed
West Coast Pacific League along with former
members of the GDFL Impact Division that had
dissolved, for the 2024 season.
