Entering the Idaho Contact Football League in 2015, the Phoenix had a rough go trying to take flight as the team didn't score a point until week four of 2016, being outscored 0-529 through the first eleven games. The first franchise win came in the season finale of 2016 28-0 over Gem State.

Opening with same-name Idaho Phoenix in 2017, a close loss started another one win season as offensive production continued to be a problem. Things started looking up in 2018 as the team bested the previous win totals of the prior three years combined going 3-6 including one-score losses to the Boise Oilers and Ontario Juggernauts. The Phoenix would not return in 2019 going 5-30, following their only playoff appearance, a 56-0 blow out loss to eventual champion Idaho Tribe.
