Created in 1964, the inaugural season of the Rough Riders was indeed rough.  Losing four out of six games, three by 36+ points, the 'Riders only victories came against the Keyport Naval Team.

In 1965 a player debuted who would go on to become a mainstay in Northwest Minor League football.  Wes Fischer joined the team as a player that season and after finishing his playing days, went on to build and coach the Snohomish County Vikings with his son Tom from 1994 through 2017.  Forty seasons after his debut, Wes Fischer was inducted into the American Football League Hall of Fame with the Class of 2004.

Following the 1965 season, the Rough Riders name was dropped in favor of the Everett Ramblers, an ode to the Seattle Ramblers which had shut down after the 1964 season.  This would lead to some confusion as Lafa Lane had purchased the Edmonds Warriors player contracts and created the Seattle Rangers for the Continental Football League.  However, the Rangers would play the 1966 season as the "Seattle Ramblers" in the Pacific Football League, while the "Everett" version of Ramblers would be a part of a loosely affiliated "Northwest Independent League" with teams like the Seattle Cavaliers, Bellingham Bell-Jets and Monroe Tigers.

(Currently digging up more data on the 1965-1970 seasons)

Such tough times the Ramblers had during the 1974 season, during a 12-6 loss to the Whatcom County Lakers, they were defeated by an offensive lineman.  Steve Yonich, Laker tackle caught both scoring passes on tackle-eligible plays setting a scoring record for offensive linemen.

Everett would have it's best season in 1977 finishing the regular season 6-2 and facing long standing rival Burien in the playoffs, a huge turnaround from the 2-7 season of 1976.  Taking the 36-13 victory, the Ramblers made it to the Northwest International Football League title game against the 4-time defending league champion Pierce County Bengals who had gone 51-2-1 leading into the game.  The Bengals defeated Everett 23-0 moving on to face San Jose for the Pro Football Weekly National Championship which they would win in California 28-27.

When the Ramblers disbanded and ceased operations after the 1978 season, some of the players went on to the Lynwood/Edmonds Lions team, others surfaced with the Seattle Cavaliers.
