The 1999 Rangers featured a raw, little known quarterback named
Shane Jurasek who would go on to a
17-year career and a GNFA Hall of Fame induction in 2019. When
the season kicked off on July 17th, the Rangers had a 12-game
schedule set for RMFL play, however, games were shuffled around when
the Snake River Rebels were
brought in late and the Rangers had already added non-league games
with Bozeman and
Yellowstone. The end of
October was a bit chaotic as the Rangers were forced to forfeit a
game to the Treasure Valley Cowboys only
to find out their next game would be forfeited by the
Twin Falls Wildcats which
disbanded after an October 2nd loss that closed out an 0-7 season.
After two seasons in the Rocky Mountain Football League, the Rangers
were contacted by the New York-based North American League to be an
expansion team in the newly formed Big Sky Division. This
would lead to the formation of the
Great Falls Gladiators which
joined the NAFL for the 2001 and 2002 seasons before the division
fell apart and the Gladiators returned to the RMFL in 2003.
