Six years after the original Matadors program merged with the Idaho Tribe of the Idaho Contact League, and the eventual shut down of the Tribe following the 2018 season, the 'Dors name rose again.

With James Fehlhaber II at head coach, the new Matadors debuted in April 2022 and quickly became the primary challenger to the Idaho Black Tide's dominance.  As if on cue, the Matadors ran out to a 2-0 start leading up to the Black Tide game in week three.  Both regular season losses would come at the hands of the Tide in nearly identical scores.  An expected third match up in the ICFL championship was thwarted when the Treasure Valley Duckz shocked the league with a 13-12 playoff win after falling to the 'Dors in the regular season finale 14-0.  Linebacker Jarod Sower would take home Defensive Player of the Year honors, while Austin Cooper was named Rookie of the Year by the ICFL from his running back position.  Twelve players would earn all-league nods in 2022.

2023 was a near mirror image of 2022 as the Matadors sported one of the top defenses in the ICFL but lost in the regular season to the Tide, and it was the Boise Aztecs who would take the season finale.  But, redemption was quickly won as the Matadors knocked off the Aztecs in the playoff rematch, earning their spot in the ICFL Championship opposite the Black Tide.  In a defensive struggle, the Tide managed a 12-8 victory to claim the crown.

With sights set on the crown, the Matadors set out on a 2024 mission to finally topple the Black Tide and claim the ICFL throne.  But, week one showed another rival had the same idea when the Aztecs took the week one match up 9-6 avenging their last loss in the 2023 playoff when the Matadors knocked them out of contention.  Refocused, the 'Dors rolled through to a week five showdown with the Tide.  The 'Dors finally conquered their nemesis 16-6 and set the sail for the post-season.  The Matadors dominated the playoff round against the Tide 28-0 setting up their second straight ICFL title game appearance.  The opponent...week one loss Boise Aztecs who entered the game undefeated.  Leaving no doubt, the 'Dors went about the business of dispatching Boise 26-6 and claiming their first ICFL title.  Twenty-one members would be honored with all-league awards at season end.  Pat Hamilton and Zack LaBarbera combined for 16 interceptions on the season, Hamilton's nine were an ICFL single-season record.
