The Avalanche were billed to be playing out of Graham, Washington and initially appeared on the Columbia Basin Riverhawks schedule as an independent non-league game.  The team never made it to the field and along with the Central Washington Lobos, canceled any scheduled game due to lack of players and interest.  In February of 2013 the Avalanche posted on Facebook to be merging with the Washington Cavaliers, which was disputed by Cav management who stated "the Cavaliers have opened the locker room for any of their players who want to come out for the Cav's".  The Cavaliers would go on to win the Western Washington Football Alliance championship on August 17th, 2013 over the Renton Ravens.

It is presumed, the Avalanche were unable to fully form on its own with the emergence of the Puyallup Nation Kings franchise that same year, making their debut in May of 2013 also as a WWFA team.
