Timing is everything. The Clark
County Vipers went on hiatus following the 2015 season after a
3-9 season in the Pacific Football League. As the regional
leagues shuffled their decks, the Pacific Northwest Football League
formed in the Portland, Oregon area playing a winter schedule in
January and second season in the summer. The Venom formed and
joined the PNFL for the summer session and were immediately met by
cross-town rival Washington
Sentinels getting crushed 67-0. The following week, the
game against Rip City was called during
the 3rd quarter as injuries piled up for Vancouver during an 0-6
inaugural season where the team had barely 14-15 healthy bodies at
times. Returning to the "winter" season in January, the Venom struggled again offensively but finally broke through the win column with a 38-24 victory over the Roseburg Valley Thunder on February 11th, 2017. The Venom finished the 2017 season and closed down along with the Vipers franchise that same season. DO YOU HAVE INFORMATION TO CONTRIBUTE? CONTACT US! (email)
