The Vancouver Vipers, created by Mathew Tefs in 2007, battled as a lower tier team in the Oregon Football League in 2008 finishing with a 3-7 record during it's inaugural season.  Eleven players would earn all-OFL honors and all-Region honors shining light on the potential talent on the roster, with four losses by less than 10-points.  The Vipers won a battle of start-up teams in 2008 as the Clark County Yellowjackets attempted to form at the same time competing for the same talent pool.

The 2009 season would repeat as a 3-win season, however the Vipers upset the Oregon Outlaws and Rogue Warriors.  Following a 6-month layoff, Tefs' aggressive scheduling put Vancouver on the field against Linfield College and their junior varsity roster.  The youthful and experienced collegians dominated 55-0.

In 2010 the Vipers struggled starting the season 0-3 including an overtime loss to the Umpqua Valley Knights before stringing together a couple of wins.  An upset of the Springfield Buzzards in the regular season finale earned Vancouver their first playoff appearance.

The Oregon League merged into the newly formed Pacific Football League in 2011 with the Vipers aligned in the North Division with the Washington teams.  A banner start, the Vipers rolled out to a 9-0 start to the season only to suffer a stunning collapse as offense vanished and defense became porous in five-straight blow-out losses to end the season 9-5.

Changing names to "Clark County" for the 2012 season and the folding of the Rogue and Klamath Crusaders franchises, the Vipers were re-aligned into the PFL South Division.  Stuggling with consistency, the season ended with a 4-7 record, the fourth losing season in five tries.  2013 continued the slide in the midst of an ownership change, with the only victory coming against a depleted Kitsap Bears during a 1-8 campaign.  Clark County would manage only five more wins during 2014 and 2015 before going on hiatus for the 2016 season.

Returning in 2017 as a member of the Western Washington Football Alliance (WWFA), the Vipers finished 2-5, but did manage to win the final two games of the season.

Rebranding as the "Northwest Vipers" for 2018, the team shut down just prior to the season kicking off, unable to put the roster numbers together for a competitive run with new local pressure of the Cowlitz County Blackhawks and Pacific Northwest Cavaliers having set up shop to the north.
