Dale Lamb

Defensive End

Seattle Ramblers

Lamb, the 6'0" 185lb defensive end was an unsung part of the 1948-1949 Rainier Beach AC team who came over with Coach Sprinkle to the Seattle Ramblers in 1950.  In 1951, after battling injuries the previous year, Dale locked down the defensive edge of the line against the running attacks of all opponents, while also serving Seattle on the offensive side of the ball as a tight end, taking the occasional "end-around", surprising opposing defenses with the big man with a full head of steam.  His play in '51 was rewarded by his teammates with the Inspirational Award at the annual team banquet.  Lamb edged out teammate Lowell Wardien for the honors.  Wardien scored 11 rushing touchdowns on the season to lead the Ramblers.

Lamb stone-walled All-American Hugh McElhenny on an end-around during the College All-Stars game.
